I provide fee-based comprehensive wealth management services to high net worth individuals and families. My clients include successful business owners and professionals with complex financial situations that require a sophisticated approach to financial planning. The work is process oriented with a high value placed on building long-term relationships.
I have twenty eight years of investment experience and established my independent financial planning practice affiliation with Lincoln Financial Advisors in 2004.
Prior to that I was employed at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods (KBW) in New York. KBW is a full-service, boutique investment bank and broker dealer that specializes in the financial services sector. The firm provides institutional & private investors and financial services companies with research, equity sales & trading, capital raising, and strategic advisory services. I served as Vice President in the Asset Management Division. We managed a large cap bank stock portfolio and a small cap bank stock portfolio for private investors.
The first ten years of my financial services career were spent with Fidelity Investments. I began in Fidelity's Institutional Division in Boston covering Registered Investment Advisors, followed by Bank Trust Companies. I then became Vice President in the Retirement Services Division and relocated to New York City to work directly with our corporate 410(k) plan sponsor clients.
Prior to beginning my career in financial services, I joined the Jesuit International Volunteers post college, and taught a group of special needs elementary school students at St. Peter Claver Parish School located in the small coastal town of Punta Gorda, Belize, Central America. Living in Belize and having the opportunity to serve in this volunteer capacity had a major impact on my life. I strive to approach business with the same "Serve First" philosophy I learned in Belize. Lincoln Financial Advisors shares this commitment to "Serve First, Last and Always".
I earned a B.A. in Economics from Boston College and reside in Rancho Santa Fe, CA with my wife Karen Butler, PhD., an art historian, and our children Loren and Claire.
